PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) is an innovative treatment that takes samples of your body’s plasma (the fluid that carries blood cells around your body) and injects them into the skin. The reason for doing this is that the platelets and growth factors naturally found in your plasma are potent stimulants for skin healing and hair growth. PRP treatments work by triggering natural hair growth and skin rejuvenation naturally, by increasing the blood supply to the skin and scalp.

Pre-Care Instructions

Consultation: Have a detailed consultation with a qualified healthcare provider experienced in PRP therapy for hair loss. Discuss your hair loss history, treatment expectations, and any potential side effects or risks.

Medical History: Provide your full medical history, including any conditions, medications, or supplements you are currently using. Certain conditions or medications might influence the treatment's effectiveness or your eligibility for PRP therapy.

Medications and Supplements: You may be advised to stop taking blood-thinning medications and supplements, such as aspirin, NSAIDs, vitamin E, and omega-3 fatty acids, several days before the treatment to reduce the risk of bleeding and bruising.

Hydration: Ensure you are well-hydrated in the days leading up to your PRP session. Being hydrated can help make the blood draw easier and may improve your overall experience.

Alcohol and Smoking: Avoid alcohol and smoking for at least a few days before your treatment, as they can impair healing and blood circulation.

Hair Care: Wash your hair the day of your treatment, but do not use any styling products. Arrive at the appointment with clean, dry hair.

Post-Care Instructions

Results: Some patients may start to see results after the first or second treatment, but typically, it takes three to six months of regular treatments to notice significant hair regrowth or decreased hair loss.

Side Effects: Monitor for any unusual side effects, such as severe pain, infection signs, or prolonged swelling, and report these to your healthcare provider.
